Sensei Robin Short

3rd Dan Instructor to the Welsh Shotokan Karate Organization

USA Representative for the WSKO

I Started Shotokan Karate with Sensei Haydn James in June 1982 in Cornelly, and trained under many of the greats, Mike O’Brien, Dave Hazard, Richie Noblett, Tiki Donovan and Dominic Valero to name but a  few.

I participated in many competitions and won team and individual ranking at the Afan Lido and the Welsh Open in Merthyr back in the early 1980’s to name but a few.

I earned my 1st Dan Black Belt (Sho-Dan) in April 1986, and after an absence from training due to work I earned my 2nd Dan Black Belt (NI-Dan) in September 1993

I trained in the Kenpo system of Karate, as there were no Shotokan Karate clubs in the area of California where I was living, and tested for 1st Degree Black Belt April 1996

Promoted to 3rd Dan Black Belt (San-Dan) April 2010

In addition to Karate I am also actively involved in Israeli Krav Maga and I am certified as a Level III instructor

I have also trained in various other martial art disciplines (Aikido, Judo, BJJ), whilst travelling with my employment.
