3rd Dan Instructor to the Welsh Shotokan Karate Organization

I Started Shotokan Karate with Sensei Haydn James in June
1982 in Cornelly, and trained under many of the greats, Mike
O’Brien, Dave Hazard, Richie Noblett, Tiki Donovan and
Dominic Valero to name but a
few.
I participated in many competitions and won team and
individual ranking at the Afan Lido and the Welsh Open in
Merthyr back in the early 1980’s to name but a few.
I earned my 1st Dan Black Belt (Sho-Dan) in April 1986, and
after an absence from training due to work I earned my 2nd
Dan Black Belt (NI-Dan) in September 1993
I trained in the Kenpo system of Karate, as there were no
Shotokan Karate clubs in the area of California where I was
living, and tested for 1st Degree Black Belt April 1996
Promoted to 3rd Dan Black Belt (San-Dan) April 2010
In addition to Karate I am also actively involved in Israeli
Krav Maga and I am certified as a Level III instructor
I have also trained in various other martial art disciplines
(Aikido, Judo, BJJ), whilst travelling with my employment.
