8 Medals & 3 Welsh Champions

On Sunday 13th October we had our Welsh Karate Governing Body Welsh Open Championships, it was an excellent Championships and a massive turnout with competitors from all over Wales, we also had strong competitors from England and Scotland.

We the WSKO had 24 students entered which was a great turnout, our Squad Sessions have become very popular and is making great progress.

I would ike to say well done to everyone who entered, I am proud of everyone of you....

And quite a few of you just missed out on a medal....

I must say I don't get to see everyone's fights as I run the competition, but the fight of the day for me was little Kiera Llewellyn who fought her heart out to a opponent who was 3 times the size of her and just missing out on a Bronze Medal......

Josh Roberts who won Gold, beat the current British Champion in the final, Josh has amazing potential, keep it up.

Luke Richards who stepped up from the Under 18 Years Category to the Under 21 Years, this is a massive step up, I know as an Ex International Fighter..... Luke fought amazing and really made us proud.

I would like to say a massive thank You to our Coach Sensei Gerwyn Harries for all his hard work at the Event.
